Southern Indiana Youth Ballet Company, Preparatory Division

Our unique and highly regarded professional preparatory program is "seriously fun" for students wishing to pursue a professional dance career or want a strong basis in dance technique. This program focuses on strength in technique and performance quality. As an actual ballet company, dancers have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of how a professional company is run, thus even more preparing each one for the "real world" while still under the nurturing guide of a close knit group. The company also has a student company ballet mistress and a peer mentoring program called "Duets", that help dancers fill supported and encouraged.

The youth ballet has a strong sense of family and is featured in all performances. The company performs 3 times per year with the Fall Ballet in September, Holiday Show in December and Spring Production in June. Although the program's emphasis is in ballet technique, tap and jazz are also incorporated. These classes focus on the musical theatre side of both disciplines. Dancers may opt to study ballet only or take the full course.

Many of the Southern Indiana Youth Ballet Company Alumni have gone on to prestigious university programs, summer intensives, professional companies and full time teaching positions. The company is divided into 3 teaching levels, Trainee, Apprentice and Pre Professional.

For age range 7 - 12 years old

They're also great for students currently enrolled and wish to supplement their class schedule. Cards can be purchased in 4, 8 or 12 class increments and are valid for 1 year from purchase date.
